Offering two challenging championship courses, Angus Glen Golf Club is known for hosting the Canadian Open and 2015 Pan Am Games. Both the South and North courses provide a balance of challenging plays, polished fairways, and beautifully guarded greens. Most come for the golf and stay for the views.

Overlooking the lush 18th hole is The Silo Grill. The menu is curated of locally grown produce creating a variety of world-class cuisine. Mouth-watering dishes range from Vietnamese fried brussels sprouts, shawarma spiced quinoa bowl, and a classic rib-eye steak which are best enjoyed on the outdoor patios.

Adorning the lower section of the patio space are neutral umbrellas, providing essential shade needs. For a panoramic view, there is an upper patio protected with a white pavilion-like structure. A portion of the second-floor patio is an open area that offers front-row views of the golf course but lacks overhead coverage. Angus Glen reached out to ShadeFX looking for a flexible solution to enhance the best seats in the restaurant by providing both sun and rain protection.

ShadeFX customized and installed four 24’ x 8’ retractable roofs for the upper patio space. A waterproof and fire-resistant black Serge Ferrari fabric is chosen to match the modern existing structure. Continuing with the cohesive design, the patented system is also painted a dramatic black. Rain gutters are added for further rain management, allowing the newly covered space to be used under the occasional summer rainfall.

Golfers can now relax and enjoy their lunch right along the edge of the second-floor patio. The addition of the retractable shades adds protected seating and unobstructed scenic views of the 18th hole.
