ShadeFX made a custom product to meet our unique need. Our family spends a great deal of our summer hours outdoors. Needless to say when we remodeled our outdoor space, our pergola was the feature attraction flanked by a stone fireplace on one end and an expanded stone kitchen/bar on the other.

Covering the pergola became the focus of our project. We wanted the versatility offered by ShadeFX design to provide protection from the sun/rain while giving us the option to enjoy the night sky and brilliant stars.

ShadeFX was the only product that met our objectives. They gave us the option for installation above or below the rafters. We chose above, allowing us to continue to enjoy the architectural design of the intricate red wood structure. ShadeFX offered a wonderful feature of automatic deployment and retraction with a simple touch of a remote control.

Our experience with ShadeFX was quite pleasant. We live in a remote location far from any of ShadeFX’s dealers. No matter as their customer service was quite knowledgeable and helpful with proper measurements, product information and explanation of features/benefits.

Installation, however, was not without a challenge, and ultimately became the reason for writing this testimonial. While the product installation was relatively straight forward with the included instructions and photos, and supported as well by emailed videos, making the final adjustments for the automatic retracting system was challenging from a remote location. This is where ShadeFX separated itself from the ordinary.

I’ve always lived by Aristotle’s motto “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” ShadeFX’s customer service representative patiently explained the procedures, emailed additional instructions and videos and remained on the line with me long after hours to make sure I was still doing OK. On two occasions that weekend, they called me back with follow up to make sure I was happy and checked on my progress. Ultimately ShadeFX stood by its product and offered to send a representative from CANADA to make the necessary adjustments. These acts define extraordinary service and with it, ShadeFX won my loyalty and unyielding support.
