This raised deck had no eave clearance above the sliding doors. The homeowner was considering a rigid roofed addition, but Hickory Dickory Decks suggested the ShadeFX option and it fit the bill perfectly.

The no-building-permit-required solution was to install a pergola frame above the eaves, and tuck a ShadeFX system under the rafters for privacy, sun, and rain protection. Note the outriggers are unaltered 2X4's that mount on edge to the end rafters. If your canopy is 12' wide or less, a 2X4 on edge makes a perfect outrigger.
